From Soca Sundays and Sip & Paint to rum tastings and cocktail masterclasses, our regular events bring together food, drink, music, culture and new experiences throughout the month.

Our monthly celebration of Soca and Caribbean culture.
Soca Sunday brings the energy of the islands to Spiced Roots with Soca, Bouyon, Zouk, Jab Jab and music from across the Caribbean, alongside Caribbean food, cocktails and our rum bar.
The afternoon starts relaxed and family-friendly, making it somewhere parents can bring the children, eat and enjoy the music. As the evening moves on, the energy picks up and the party takes over.
Expect guest DJs, special menus, rum, cocktails and plenty of dancing.
Entry is usually free, with ticket options available for selected events and guaranteed entry.

Sip & Paint

A creative afternoon with Caribbean food, cocktails and no pressure to be an artist.
Our monthly Sip & Paint is designed for friends, dates, birthdays, groups or anyone looking for something different to do in Oxford.
- Guided painting session
- All canvas, paints and equipment
- Caribbean-inspired three-course nibbles
- 90 minutes of bottomless cocktails
- Music throughout the session
No painting experience is needed. Come on your own, bring a friend or book as a group — you'll be guided through the painting from start to finish and take your finished canvas home with you. Guests also have the option to pre-order food for after the session and stay for lunch.

Rum & Cocktail Masterclasses

With more than 100 rums behind our bar, there's a lot more to rum than most people realise.
Our masterclasses bring producers, brand ambassadors and rum specialists into Spiced Roots for guided tasting sessions, then take you behind the bar for a hands-on experience learning how great cocktails come together.
You'll taste a selection of rums while learning about where they come from, how they're made and the people behind them — then learn about balancing flavours and the techniques our bartenders use before making cocktails yourself.
They're relaxed, conversational and particularly good for:
- Birthdays
- Date nights
- Groups of friends
- Hen parties
- Team socials
- Private celebrations
Private masterclasses can also be arranged for groups. Where available, guests can also book a table to eat before or after the session.
